Kent Shakespeare

This character is or was an incarnation of Superman or an ally, and a member of the Superman Family.

He joined the Legion under the codename "Impulse" sometime after the Magic war, but resigned along with many others during the Black Dawn. During his retirement, he became a medical student at an Outpost called Medicus One, where he would be reintroduced to the Legion during an attack from the Persuader. He was later erased from history by waves of chronal entropy during Zero Hour.

Powers

• Superhuman Strength
• Superhuman Durability
• Superhuman Speed
• Accelerated Healing

Abilities

• Medical Science: Kent has extensive Medical knowledge, having attended Medical School. He is a capable paramedic, and has spent time working in the Medicus One clinic outpost.

Theena

Ally of the Legion of Super-Heroes with a symbiote that allows her to track and communicate over great distances.

At some point in her past, the alien Theena's life was saved when she was bonded with a psychic symbiote. They have been connected to each other ever since and it is unknown if Theena would survive a separation. The symbiote has several pods which can act as visual monitors, tracking or communicating with almost anyone.

She is a big fan of the Legion of Super-Heroes and resides with thousands of other Legion fans outside the team's headquarters. Due to her status as a communication and news hub, both Legionnaires and their fans constantly go to her for the latest news updates or to send a quick message to a loved one. She uses her abilities to also watch out for the thousands of Legion fans she lives with, keeping tabs on their whereabouts and those who come or leave their community. She was the one who counted the votes when the Legion was electing a new leader after the Dominator War.

Calcu-Lad was a tryout for the Legion of Super Heroes. I found out he was a reject after I was done with this piece of art. His real name was not revealed, neither was his home planet.

His first appearance was Legion Vol. 3 #39 in October 1987. He was rejected when Colossal Boy was admitted.

That's all the knowledge I have about this character, if you know more please leave a comment with extra info.

Thanks for stopping by.

Long Live the Legion!

May the Fourth be with You...Always!

Happy May the Fourth!

And for this Star Wars Celebration day, I hope you enjoy watching this Simpsons short on Disney+ as much as I've enjoyed working on it as a Character Designer.

By the way, this past Monday was my 23-year Anniversary of working on The Simpsons!

May the Fourth Be with You...Always!

Freedom Overture

Freedom Overture

My latest mixed media art.

It will be printed 31" x 40" as giclée and stretched on canvas.

It becomes 3D when viewed with Chromadepth 3D glasses.

I may possibly take orders to be printed as a poster.

I was inspired by the events from the last 3 years.

Many things got swept under the rug, but they will never be forgotten by many.

Fascism, tyranny, dictatorship, censorship, corruption, and crimes against humanity should be brought to justice.

It saddens me our world got divided due to all of the above.

Those who blindly and willingly support that, get all fired up to defend the perpetrators of those atrocities. Those who comply because they genuinely believe is the right thing to do despite how messed up it is.

And those who do not support that, and made a stand against all odds, supporting freedom of choice, freedom of speech, liberty, and justice for all.

The good old divide and conquer, never fails. Throw a little fear-mongering propaganda and voilà.

I can't wait for people to put their differences aside and unite.

Politics, Covid, and I even dare to say some man-made dogmas have been designed to divide humanity between many other things. All committed by a few corrupt, degenerate, power/money-hungry, psychopaths.

It is time to wake up and do something about it. Only when we rise united those nefarious folks will be brought to justice.

It happened throughout history many times.

How many insurrections, revolutions, world wars, and civil wars will it take until we achieve a higher state of consciousness?

A higher state of consciousness that's not tinted by a dumbed-down society that embraces poisoned foods, the lack of education, and obeys out of fear of the few corrupt.

The time for a change, to unite, and manifest the timeline we all truly want to see is way overdue.

John Wick 4

Just saw John Wick 4, staggering astonishment...just wow. Go watch it ASAP.
Here's my two cents tribute art.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, thumbs up.

Just saw it tonight.

Here's a little something I came up with.

I would recommend you watch Loki, Season 1, Episode 6 before Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, if you haven't already.

Just saying...

Gold Lantern

At some point after the 21st century, the colored lantern corps, including the Green Lanterns and the immortal Guardians of the Universe, ceased operations.
In their absence, a new group of Elders, beings of golden energy, inhabited the planet Oa. They claimed that the collective powers of the "emotional spectrum" held greater potential: it could bring true balance to the galaxy.
In the 31st century, they sent an emissary named Gdon to choose Kala Lour as their standard bearer. Lour was a spiritual teacher on Apploza and was visually blind (as are many in his world). At first, he declined their offer, not wanting to be part of a military organization. They reassured him that he was the first of a new breed of Lantern. He then accepted their offer wholeheartedly.

The power of the Gold Lantern appears near-limitless and benefits from having a wielder who is practiced at self-control. It also enables him to fly unaided in space, at speeds faster than light.

I haven't done any Legionnaires in a long while for multiple reasons, I hope this makes up for it, at least a little.

Long live the Legion!

Abstract Mecanika

Abstract Mecanika

My latest mixed media art creation.

Will be printed and stretched on canvas 29"x29".

Embellished with acrylic and texturized with clear gel on ciclée.

Becomes 3D with Chromadeph 3D glasses.

Trying something new as usual.

SciFi Purple

After playing with the AI art generator Midjourney, I got inspired and that became an idea for a new piece. I painted and added lots of details with Photoshop. It doesn't really look like that original AI art anymore.

Always looking forward to learning from new tools and pushing the boundaries to new horizons with art.

Will be printed as giclée and stretched on canvas. 30"W x 40"H, will sell the giclée for $2500.

It becomes 3D when viewed with Chromadepth 3D glasses.

The price will go up after adding acrylic embellishment on canvas.

Jurassic World: Dominion

I’m seeing Jurassic World: Dominion tonight in IMAX.

Looks epic.

I’ve been a dinosaur fan ever since I was a kid, I used to know all their names.

Here's my two cents fan art and my Ricardo Delgado style tribute art attempt, no one draws dinosaurs like him, no one.

May 25th, 1977.

The original Star Wars (Episode IV) was released on May 25, 1977. The rest is history. Thank you uncle George. Happy Star Wars day...again.

This coming Friday the new Obi-Wan Kenobi show comes out, looks really good. Here're my two cents.

Today it would have been my dad's 100th birthday if he was still alive. He took me to see Star Wars for the first time back in 1977.

Also today is a National Holiday in Argentina. The May Revolution took place May 25, 1810, in Buenos Aires. It started the Argentine War of Independence.

So many special dates today.

May the force be with you...always.

Friday the 13Th on a full Alien-made Artificial Satellite night.

Happy Friday the 13th on a full view of the Alien-made Artificial Satellite (full moon this coming Sunday)

Some cultures, including the Ancient Egyptians, actually considered the number 13 to be lucky. While others have simply swapped numbers as the base of their phobias, triskaidekaphobia to be exact.

Like Social Distortion, Thirteen’s my lucky number.

As for the full moon, I know one day the heavily indoctrinated masses will find out the actual truth that our moon was Alien-made and brought to Earth thousands of years ago. Some folks know thou, minority so far.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opens today.

I'm seeing it tonight in IMAX.

A Marvel Team-Up with Doctor Strange and Spiderman was my first Comic Book ever.

Basically, I've learned about astral projection and out-of-body experiences since I was 7 thanks to Doctor Strange, which explains a lot about me if you know me in real life.

Here are my two cents fan-art with some of my favorite Doctor Strange versions. The Defenders version, Cinematic Universe, and the masked version.

79% on Rotten Tomatoes, enough said.

The question you gotta ask yourself is...Who are you in this vast multiverse?

May the Fourth be with you.

Jedi Knight Revan, my latest digital shenanigans.

22nd Anniversary of Working on The Simpsons

Today is my 22nd year anniversary of working on The Simpsons TV show.

I've started back in April 1992 at Klasky Csupo.

Went from doing Character Layout to Character Design to Assistant Director to working on The Simpsons movie as an Aditional Sequence Director to Storyboards back on the show to Character Design again and currently.

In addition, I'm about to start working on the 34th season sometime soon.

Had a 10 year intermission somewhere in the middle and also worked at Warner Bros Animation, Cartoon Network, DC Comics, and Marvel Animation doing superhero shows. Between all of these experiences and The Simpsons, I had an amazing career.

I've learned and grown so much as an artist and as a person, I'm beyond grateful.

I look forward to continue bringing laughter to this world with my art.

Have a great weekend folks!

The best is yet to come, never stop never stopping.

Cheers

 Happy Earth Day earthlings...for now.

Earth Day began as an environmental movement in 1970. This year marks the 52nd anniversary of the widely celebrated holiday, according to EarthDay.org. Gaylord Nelson, a junior senator from Wisconsin, wanted to hold teach-ins about air and water pollution on college campuses.

Before the star in this solar system goes supernova in the future, this planet will be around for a looong time.

Cheers to many more Earth Days!

Halo

Master Chief from Halo.

Maybe because I've never played the video game I'm actually enjoying the TV series.

Here are my two cents.

Doctor Strange is next.

I hate to be somewhat of a basic bitch when it comes to SciFi and Comic Book related things, like movies, tv shows, etc...

I'll draw and post whatever the trend is or what everyone else is doing.

I gotta post more original content despite whatever the latest is.

Maybe I'll go back to my Versus Series or even doing whatever Legionnaires I got left on my list.

I should actually start re-designing my own SciFi Nova Star so I can pitch it already.

Anyhow, have a good one folks.

Morbius the Living Vampire

Morbius the Living Vampire.

Created by Gil Kane and Roy Thomas.

It first appeared in a Spider-Man comic back in 1971.

I think the movie wasn’t that bad at all, Rotten Tomatoes was too harsh on that low percentage.

Jared Leto was the perfect casting for that roll.

Happy International Women's Day!

Every home, every heart, every feeling, every moment of happiness is incomplete without you, only you can complete this world.

Happy women’s day to all incredible women in the world, shine on, not just today but every single day!

The Batman...Beyond...
Apparently, Robert Pattinson makes a good Batman.
I can't wait to see it.
Here's a little Photoshop I've added to my own Batman Beyond art.

Nuestra Señora del Limón

Dedicated to my Argentinian friends...

Nuestra Señora del Limón

La Virgen de los limados.

Virgen de Limón Patrona de los Santos Limados

Gracias por el fin de semana concedido

Que nunca nos falte ni de lo uno ni de lo otro

Líbranos de las falsas amistades

Y que el ácido nos acompañe siempre

Salud!

Translation:

Virgin of Lemon Patron Saint of the Limados Saints

Thanks for the weekend granted

That we never lack neither one nor the other

Deliver us from false friendships

And may the acid always be with us

Cheers!

This is based on an Argentinian joke.

There's not such thing as a Virgin of Lemon.

Here's the page and original image I've based it on:

https://www.facebook.com/La-Virgen-de-Limón-111276628963634/

The expression "Limado" in Buenos Aires slang means to be crazy or high. Sounds like lima or limón hence the whole joke.

The literal translation of "Limado" means the operation consisting of removing filings from a material by means of a file or a filer.

Because of that and within the context of this slang expression, that could also mean you got your brain filed from alcohol or drugs therefore you are crazy or not in your right mind...limado.

You can also say "que lime" as in "que locura" (that's crazy)

You can tell to a person: que limado, or estas re-limado. As in you are crazy or high, depends on the situation and the context.

I don't really think any other Spanish-speaking countries would ever get this joke, it's an Argentinian thing, specifically from Buenos Aires.

I'm aware every time you explain a joke it's not funny anymore, especially in another language from another culture where the sense of humor may be very different. Regardless I thought this needed an explanation for most folks around the world.

I hope you enjoy the art nevertheless and appreciate the intention of making you laugh.

This world needs more laughter nowadays.

Cheers
