Happy Earth Day earthlings...for now.

Earth Day began as an environmental movement in 1970. This year marks the 52nd anniversary of the widely celebrated holiday, according to EarthDay.org. Gaylord Nelson, a junior senator from Wisconsin, wanted to hold teach-ins about air and water pollution on college campuses.

Before the star in this solar system goes supernova in the future, this planet will be around for a looong time.

I hate to be somewhat of a basic bitch when it comes to SciFi and Comic Book related things, like movies, tv shows, etc...

I'll draw and post whatever the trend is or what everyone else is doing. 

I gotta post more original content despite whatever the latest is. 

Maybe I'll go back to my Versus Series or even doing whatever Legionnaires I got left on my list. 

I should actually start re-designing my own SciFi Nova Star so I can pitch it already.

There's not such thing as a Virgin of Lemon.

The expression "Limado" in Buenos Aires slang means to be crazy or high. Sounds like lima or limón hence the whole joke.

The literal translation of "Limado" means the operation consisting of removing filings from a material by means of a file or a filer.

Because of that and within the context of this slang expression, that could also mean you got your brain filed from alcohol or drugs therefore you are crazy or not in your right mind...limado.

You can also say "que lime" as in "que locura" (that's crazy)

You can tell to a person: que limado, or estas re-limado. As in you are crazy or high, depends on the situation and the context.

I don't really think any other Spanish-speaking countries would ever get this joke, it's an Argentinian thing, specifically from Buenos Aires.

I'm aware every time you explain a joke it's not funny anymore, especially in another language from another culture where the sense of humor may be very different. Regardless I thought this needed an explanation for most folks around the world.

I hope you enjoy the art nevertheless and appreciate the intention of making you laugh.

This world needs more laughter nowadays.

We live in a world where the majority of people, "the masses," are easily led and manipulated by the mainstream media narrative. Whoever controls that, controls the mind of the masses. Mostly a fear-based system, where the sheeple, compliant and easily influenced folks, have been divided more than ever recently due to politics, big tech, big pharma, the Covid agenda, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and anything you can think of. The good ol' divide and conquer seems to be doing well.

The male black werewolf in this painting symbolizes the Great Awakening movement that has emerged due to the world events over the last few years. The blood on his hands it's a symbol of strength, hunting out of necessity, and being tired of the sheep everywhere.  

Think for yourselves, don't be sheep.

Dream Boy

Rol Purtha, known as Dream Boy comes from the planet Naltor. He appeared at the Legion Headquarters after the death of his predecessor Dream Girl, as a replacement by Naltor's High Seer. Ha can see visions of the future in his dreams. He can also foresee events seconds to hours before they occur due to his second class precognitive ability. Although he can also focus his visions on objects such as predicting Brainiac's security codes.
It's becoming challenging to draw actual Legionnaires, since I've drawn just about all main characters and mostly rejects remain in my list.
I'll have a new 36x24 poster with every Legionnaire I've ever drawn at Comic Con this year.

Computo is Danielle Foccart, a member of the Legion of Super Heroes in the 30h Century. 

She can control and communicate mentally with computers of all kinds by psionically interfacing with them.

Her name is derived from the villain Computo.

This character was created by Paul Levitz and Keith Giffen.

Spark

Ayla Ranzz, originally Lightning Lass also known as "Spark" is a super heroine in a future DC Comics universe. She is a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes. There have been three versions of Ayla since her original debut; these versions are separated by the events of both the Zero Hour and Infinite Crisis limited series. Ayla Ranzz (of the planet Winath, where twinning is normal) first appeared in Adventure Comics #308, (May 1963). She is the twin sister of fellow Legionnaire Garth (Lightning Lad) and the younger sister of the villainous Mekt (Lightning Lord). All three gained their lightning powers after being attacked by creatures called lightning beasts on the "lightning world" of Korbal.

Star Boy, Post-Reboot Version. 
Thom Kallor, he has many incarnations connected to the Legion. The character has been also know as Starman. He can increase the mass and density of any object or person. He also has the ability to travel between universes by using his powers and a special suit that is a map of the Multiverse.

Avengers Infinity War was amazing. I can't wait to see it again. I've been waiting to see a live action super hero movie like this since I was a kid. Well done Marvel!!!

Cosmic Boy (Mike Grell version)

Here is the Cosmic Boy from the 70's Mike Grell came up with.
His real name is Rokk Krinn and he is a founder of the Legion of Super Heroes.
His super-power is super magnetism. He can manipulate metal objects.
Believe it or not this was the first costume I've ever saw of the character, since I've discovered my first Legion comic in the 70's. Of course I prefer other designs, but think of this as a tribute to my childhood.

Duplicate Boy

Real name Ord Quelu of the planet Lallor. First apear in Adventure Comics #324 September 1964. He was a member of the Heroes of Lallor in the 30th Century along with the Legion of Super Heroes.
Duplicate Boy can duplicate any superpower he has ever encounter and is able to use more than one at a time. The background is from an animated screensaver in a loop. This is just a modified screen-grab. I've changed some minor elements to the design itself since I didn't like the original, like the shorts for example.

Eyeful Ethel

Real name Ethel Lynn Niwtyn. Originally she had a ring of eyes on her head. In the Retroboot she can grow eyes all over her body at will. Ethel's unusual vision is the product of black market bio-engineering performed on her by her parents before conception. She was rejected from the Legion of Super Heroes since her abilities were not useful in battle. 

She became a criminal with Tusker later on.

Here is the Eyeful Ethel from the Retroboot / New Earth. In this version she was stopped by Superman and the Legion, actually Rainbow Girl from the Legion of Substitute Heroes stopped her and was locked up in New Takron Galtos.

The BG it's titled Follow the Light and was made by the talented Aurora900.

Sometimes I feel like doing a Legion reject, they are for sure very interesting characters to draw, specially the sexy ones.

Supernova

Supernova from Rick and Morty, from the episode Vindicators 3. I think that character is awesome so I made my own version. Imagine the characters from Rick and Morty drawn in this style LOL. That would make a hell of the episode! 

Jungle King

Jungle King wanted to join the Legion of Super Heroes but was rejected. His power is controlling animals. He became the Monster Master later on, leading a collection of monsters, but died in battle.
The BG was done by Philip Staub. I had to look at some Wrightson for the liana. Some times Legionnaire rejects are fun to draw too, depends on the character I guess.

Reflex

Devlin O'Ryan is a native of the planet Xanthu. He has the ability to reflect virtually any physical or energy attack. He was romantically involved with Shrinking Violet, and he was also a journalist at the Daily Planet. Reflex was de-aged into childhood by the mistress Glorith. 
The BG was made by Alex Kam, I've retouched very little. 
I'm doing my best to continue drawing Legionnaires in despite of the lack of time.

Alaktor

Alaktor was rejected from the Legion of Super Heroes. He secretly tried to take them down, but his plan backfired and he lost. The BG was made by Raphael Lacoste, I've added some elements.
I've tough he was a hero, by the time I've found he was a villain I was almost done with the piece so I've decided to finish it anyway...

Catspaw

April Dumaka, alias Catspaw was from the Glorithverse. Catspaw is a human and feline hybrid, she has the agility, speed and heightened senses (smelling, hearing and balance) of a cat, as well as retractable claws on her fingers and toes. She also has excellent night vision and animal like instincts.
I think the BG is from a furniture place believe or not, of course I've added some details to make it more Legionnaire like. Long live the Legion...

Radiation Roy

After Roy Travich received a large inheritance, used it to gain a super power to join The Legion of Super Heroes. He couldn't control his power and got rejected then became a super-villain.
The BG credits are by As_100, that's all the info I could find.  
More Legionnaires coming up in the future...future get it.
Chau

Shadow Woman

Shadow Woman from the Adult Legionnaires. She died saving the Science Asteroid. The only reference I had was that Adventure Comics cover where Superman is walking between the dead Legionnaires shrine in the future...of the future...The BG was made by Joakim Olofssom, I've changed a few minor things here and there.
I've been super busy with many things at once, unfortunately that takes time away from my Legion fun. But worry not Legion fans, I'll keep em' coming one way or another.

11 my eleventh painting. I should start looking for a gallery to do a solo show soon.
This is not a photo or photo collage or a photo that I've painted over.
Yes, this is painted from zero. I did copy elements from different image reference but it is painted.
It took me a loooong time to achieve this goal of photo realism.
Since you can manipulate images with photoshop very well, it gives me the tools to reach my goal of photo realism. I've smudge, airbrush and used the blur tool a lot.
Some parts I've spent more time trying to make it look more photographic than other parts. The woman's face was based on a model reference. The BG was very time consuming as well, but it was fun painting purple clouds.

Estimate Lad, one of the top five Legion rejects. He is an alien that can instantly estimate weights, measures, speeds and numbers, But he lacks accuracy. Clearly he got rejected by The Legion of Super Heroes. The BG was made by the concept artist Charivari.
Worry not Legion fans, I'll get to Legion members eventually once I free up from crazy life events.

Mentalla

Mentalla was a telepathic woman from Titan that wanted to use her powers as a member of the Legion of Super Heroes. Instead asked to train in the Legion Academy. She believed she could infiltrate the Fatal Five to prove her worth to the Legion. Instead, she found her death.
I took some liberties and redesign little things here and there. The whole point of this ongoing Legion designs, is to have fun doing whatever I want, sometimes the actual design it's not that esthetic to my taste. The BG is stock art from a website. Too bad this character is dead, it had potential. 

Wonder Woman vs Cheetah

By combining two of my old drawings and retouching them up a little I've came up with a new one :)
The Wonder Woman movie it's great. Finally DC comics makes a good super hero movie that stands up to Marvel's standards. It's everything I've always wanted to see in a Wonder Woman movie since I reed her comics as a child. Is entertaining, exciting and it has a lot of heart. Well done Patty Jenkins.
I hope DC and specially Warner Brothers executives learn from this experience and keep making good super hero movies like this one. That would be great!
